A DIY Bathroom Vanity

I am Currently re-modeling the Master Bath. I am building a Vanity to hold the sink.

  • Carcass: 3/4'' Malamine Particle Board
  • Back: 1/4'' hardboard
  • Face Frame: Hard Maple
  • Panels: Bookmatched figured maple
    • Finish
    • Three Coats of Watco Natural
    • Rubbed in with 00 Steel Wool

    Bookmatched maple for door panels shown right off the saw then finished with Watco Natural Danish Oil

    This is a sequence showing assembly of the end panel and carcase. I bought a new tool for this, a pocket hole jig. I don't like it very much for the melamine. it is too crumbly for the pockets and I crushed a few of them. I think I need to find some sort of glue and use brads. Maybe I need a brad nailer before I do kitchen cabinets :D I like the melamine for the inside of the cabinet though.

    This is the finished product. I still need to put the kick board in but that will wait till I place it in the bathroom where I am putting tile right now. I missed the part where I built the drawers. I will cover that in some future project.
